Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I know we did, AND Jett left us his first brown surprise in his diaper since his surgery (that's 5 days post op)! That's super exciting news because that means his intestines are working again and things are starting to flow through! (Happy dance!)

The swelling in his body is starting to go down as Jett is receiving full body massages twice a day (lucky dog!) to relieve him of any discomfort and to work the swelling through his body, which he will eventually pee out. So with that being said, he is not being weighed right now. The swelling and extra fluid his body is carrying after surgery is normal but will make his weight inaccurate. He left Siani at exactly 4 pounds and we believe he has at least a pound of swelling carried in his body (Totally normal, I freaked too though!). But he's 16 1/2 inches now and continues to grow like a big boy should!

As of two days ago, he's been removed of his antibiotics he was on to prevent any infection from surgery. And only receives pain medication as needed now. How do we tell when Jett is in any pain? We look for a number of things such as a racing heart beat or higher heart rate, his facial expressions-red in the face, wincing, etc, and even holding his breath or how often or little he's breaths.

Jett is more and more alert everyday and especially loves it when people are talking to him and laughing around him. Any attention he can get, he'll soak up! Here's a few pics I snapped

 yesterday.
