We are asking for some continued prayers today as Jett started his first feeding on breast milk (another happy dance)! We are praying that his intestines will remember how to work and be able to breakdown stools and fight off any NEC infections.
Doctors feel he is ready and needs a little push to get those bowels moving. This is a very EXCITING step in going in the right direction! Jett started off with 5 cc's of breast milk today at noon and so far Jett has showed no residuals! (YAY!) This will be his first 'meal' or in this case, drops of breast milk in almost 3 weeks!
(I know, poor guy.)
